Tax Rebate
FILM INCENTIVES
SOUTH PICTURES, is an international company based in Madrid - Spain. This allows us to grant access to the tax incentives within the country.
25% up to 30%
The tax rebate has been updated since (May 2020) increasing competitiveness for the spanish audiovisual sector.
The percentage of the tax rebate for mainland Spain is 30% up to minimum spending of 1.000.000€ million Euros for VFX and 200,000€ on animation projects deduction , beyond 1 million reduction applies on 25% onwards. The total maximum rebate limit is 10.000.000€. million Euros.
The minimum expenditure that grants access to the tax rebate is 200.000€. Labour and other production related costs are part of the qualifying expenses.

Juan Salgado

Juan’s journey in the world of visual effects began with a strong foundation in 3D, eventually leading him to specialize in Visual Effects. Starting as an artist, he quickly ascended to leadership and supervisory roles, guiding international teams across some of the most prestigious studios worldwide. His impressive career includes collaborations with industry giants such as Industrial Light & Magic, Double Negative, Scanline VFX, Digital Domain, Ghost VFX, Pixomondo, BaseFX, and many others.
With over 20 years of experience, Juan has established himself as a highly accomplished Visual Effects Supervisor. His mastery of all aspects of CGI workflows, combined with a keen eye for creativity, allows him to steer high-end productions to success across various content types.
Juan’s portfolio boasts over 100 TV commercials, more than 30 films, 10 TV series, and several game cinematics. Recent notable projects include his role as Sequence Supervisor on Ms. Marvel and Lost in Space 3 in 2021, and as VFX Supervisor for 5 Days at Memorial (Apple TV), which earned a VES/Emmy, and Jung-E (Netflix) in 2022. In 2023, he completed The Morning Show S3 for Apple TV, and in 2024, he served as VFX Supervisor for The Decameron (Netflix) and Sniper: The Last Stand (Sony Pictures).
As the founder of South Pictures, Juan now oversees the company’s growth and the development of its slate of upcoming projects while continuing to apply his expertise as a Visual Effects Supervisor.
Some of the high-profile feature films in Juan’s credits include Captain America, Star Trek, Transformers 4, and Logan.
